All I want for belated Christmas is a 3 days off of school.

Today I'm just not in the blogging mood. It's not even that I don't have good material to talk about, because I do. I think I'm just being lazy, and I need to push myself out of that mode. I think it's also because I have to go to work soon. But I'm going to still write, so here I go.

We don't get much snow/ice in the South, but this week we did. Winter storm Leon came through little old South Carolina and we didn't have school for three days. Yes, three. My university was actually the only school that didn't freak out and close as much as the rest. We had Tuesday and Wednesday off, then Thursday classes started back at 12:30. The public schools here were closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and they also had a two hour delay today. Crazy! All because the snow had not melted.

It didn't start snowing/icing until Tuesday night, which is why I called out of work for Tuesday. My mom said she wouldn't even feel like picking me up if the roads were icy, so I called out. And it just so happens that Kohl's closed at 6, which is so odd for Kohl's to do because we never close! Last year when we had snow, they wouldn't let us leave work before it got bad because we had to stay open for customers! Again, crazy!

Now we're back to almost normal. There is still snow on the ground and it's still chilly, but I'm about to go to work and deal with Friday customers. So yeah, normal.

Trevor had to stay the night Tuesday because his car was so iced over he couldn't scrape it off. Which was fine by me. We spent pretty much all of the snow days together, which was good. We stayed outside just to take pictures, eat snow and clean off the cars. The rest of the day was spent watching Netflix and doing some homework.

The snow was so cold on my hands! (Hence the face I'm making in the picture below.) After I threw it in the air (three times), I couldn't even feel my engagement ring on my finger. I ran inside to warm them up, but they never really got warm.

We like to eat snow off the car. While Trevor was cleaning off his car, this is what I did. He enjoyed it a little, too.

OUTFIT OF CHOICE
Jacket : Old Navy
Leggings : Kohl's
Boots : Kohl's
Long sleeve shirt : ADPi Mallard Ball 2013 shirt

And then we made snow cream for the first time. I was okay, but better with Hershey's syrup!

Southern Snow.

Today I posted a tweet and a Facebook status about the snow we are supposed to get in South Carolina. Unlike the Northerners, Southerners don't know how to deal with snow, which usually happens once every few years. This winter, though, was an unusually cold one. Don't get me wrong, we had crazy weather still, like 70 degrees today with a low of 27 degrees tonight. People down here really freak out about snow and cold weather, which gets me a little frustrated.

For example, the first week of school after Christmas break, most of the public schools here had a delay because of "cold weather." The high was 30-something degrees. I still went to school and probably did more walking outside in the cold than the little elementary kids did, mainly because they have a nice warm building with halls to all their classes and I have mother nature to walk through to my classes. A delay for cold weather? Yes, that's how crazy Southerners are.

And now today. There is a high chance for a "winter storm" to come through our state tomorrow around noon and get worse into Wednesday. We are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow, which is unusual for South Carolina. But is bad enough that all the bread at the local Walmart was sold out? I mean completely bare shelves. Pretty much all the schools are canceled for tomorrow and Wednesday, which of course I am happy about, but no one on Facebook will shut up about it! Which brings me to my point about this whole post and the first sentence. My tweet and status looked like this : "I need to get bread and milk!" Sorry to tell y'all, but it's not a blizzard. I think you will survive. What about those homeless people?" I posted this because after seeing and hearing about the snow, I thought of one man in our city that is always walking around because he has no place to go. I wondered what would happen to him. This one status got many comments saying I was a Debbie Downer and "This is a major life event." It's a major life event that many people are going to be very cold while the rest of us are warm in bed? I know what you're thinking, "So what are you going to do?" I'm not sure. I don't know where to go to help people, but one of my friends on Facebook said that there are some churches in town that take them in during the Winter/cold weather, which I am thankful for. I know for sure that I will be praying for the homeless and those without heat, and also for the kind people that are taking people in.

Besides wanting to help people more and trying to motivate myself to do so, the moral of this story is to stop opening up my mouth and voicing my opinion. (Although I have clearly done so once again in this post. Silly me.) I've learned that people don't really care what they say back to you in a status on Facebook because it's just Facebook. But let me tell you, I was just opening up your eyes to what other people are going through during this unusual weather. I'm just the messenger and I don't think I'll be voicing my opinion anymore, at least on Facebook.

Lazy Greatness

Real Housewives of Atlanta is on right now and I'm about to go downstairs to get a homemade chocolate chip cookie. This is a good Sunday night. The only thing missing is my fiance. (Fun fact : I just spent roughly three minutes trying to figure out how to make an 'e' with an apostrophe on it for 'fiance.')

Now, to add to the great laziness of my Sunday night, some blogging!

Sometimes my family and I go to church on Saturday evening and I don't always feel like getting dressed up for it. Lately when I think, "Ugh, let's just put on jeans and a shirt" I'll stop and make myself put in time to look nice. I don't have to look fancy, but I need to shop my closet more. This is exactly what I did on Saturday for church.

OUTFIT OF CHOICE
Dress : Isaac Mizrahi Live! // Thrifted
Long Sleeve Shirt : Old Navy
Boots : Thrifted
Tights : I have no clue where or when I bought these.
Necklace : Recycled Rooster // Vintage ($15)

The necklace I have on is amazing!! It's needlepoint with a flower on it and it has a mirror on the back.  A new consignment shop opened up in our town and it's pretty awesome. It's called Recycled Rooster and it has a mix of vintage and newer clothes. I'm used to thrift store prices so when I saw the prices on some of the items, I was a little shocked. However, most of the stuff was decently priced. Along with my necklace I bought Betsey Johnson deer earrings and a pair of pants from Wet Seal. I got the pants for free, so I only spent $30. I wish I could have purchased everything that caught my eye, but I couldn't. There was a pair of shoes there that were green and done similarly to needlepoint. They had cute daisies all over them and I wanted them so badly! But they were thirty-something dollars. Then I found a Lilly Pulitzer dress with elephants on it and it was my size, which was amazing! But that was also a little more than I wanted to spend, $34. You can see the pattern of the dress on my Instagram. I asked the lady if I could put it on hold and come back to trade items for it. I might have to do that with the shoes, too. They were just that amazing!

Sorry I wrote so much. I guess I'm in a talking mood.

Cramped.

I decided to put small foam rollers in my damp hair the other night. I used to do this all the time because it was the only way I could curl my hair. However, back in the day I had longer hair. Stupid me forgot that small rollers would make my hair kinky curly and I have chin length hair now. Not always a good combo. I kept telling everyone that I looked like Mo from the Three Stooges, but again, stupid me just found out that Mo has straight hair. So, I looked more like Larry. My hair was completely straight on the top and then poofy curly. The only good thing to come out of this was that I had to wear my hair up, which I haven't been able to do since I got it cut.

So, enough about my hair. It's time to get into the real purpose of this post. I found a company online (through YouTubers) that sends you a "period box" when you subscribe to them. The box includes tampons and pads of the brand of your choice, pampering products and food. There are three different sizes to choose from with one of the companies. Madame Ladybug is the company that I was most inspired by. When I saw people unboxing the stuff on YouTube, I wanted to order one right away, but I decided to give them as presents. I like to give presents to people, especially my best friend that goes to college in a different city. Then, I decided instead of wondering what will come in her box, I decided to make my own for her. What started out as one box turned into 3. And after shopping, spending money, and being creative, I had my own period box that I call "Cramped."

So, here are the contents of Cramped.

FOOD
1 : Brach's Heartlines Conversation Hearts
2 : Pringles STIX, Pizza
3 : Keebler mini Fudge Stripes
4 : Sour Patch Kids
5 : Great Value 100% Apple Juice
6 : Keebler Chips Deluxe Cookies, mini Rainbow
7 : Cheez-It
8 : Austin Cheese Crackers with Peanut Butter

BEAUTY
1 : U by Kotex, Barely There, Thin (18)
2 : Six Function Tweezers by Beauty Secret
3 : femme couture Mineral Effects : Sterling & Deep Amethyst // I gave different colors in different boxes.
4 : Silk Elements, Luxury Moisturizing Conditioner
5 : Sally Girl, Vitamin E Stick
6 : China Glaze : For Audrey (not pictured) & Fairy Dust
7 : Sally Girl, (no name) // I only put this polish in one box.
8 : ORS Olive Oil Hair Lotion // I actually found out from my African American friend that this is not usually used by White people. Oh well, they can try something new.
9 : Equate Compact Tampons (compare to U by Kotex) // I put six in each box & they were super tiny!
10 : Nail File by Beauty Secrets, 240 grit
Not Pictured : Hand sanitizer by Bath and Body Works : Twilight Woods, Passion Fruit Colada, Raspberry Ganache Swirl

I wanted to put paper "worms" in the boxes, but one bag of them was $1.50 at Walmart, and I was not about to spend a bunch of money on something my friends are just going to throw away. Instead, I bought construction paper and made my own. It wasn't hard, probably because I have a decent sized paper cutter. It made it a lot easier.

Below are pictures of each stage of my boxing process. Just thought you guys would want to see how I put it together.

I think I'm going to do Cramped more often. I certainly enjoyed it. (I hope y'all enjoyed seeing a sliver of my feet.) And now you know my friends' names. Oh boy.

Also, let me know if you have tried out a beauty subscription box. I really want to do one, but I'm just not sure which one. I need help deciding!

Stupid Cat!!

I'm so frustrated right now. My frustration has worn off a little but it's still there. MY CAT RIPPED MY MUSTARD TIGHTS!!! Ughh. That's why I'm frustrated. Yes, he ripped the ones in the pictures below. They were $5 from Walmart and are absolutely amazing! I was so excited to have these and now I have to exchange them. Hopefully they still have my size. If not, I'm going to be so upset.

So, end of my rant/venting. Today I was supposed to go to Columbia to go shopping (mainly to go to Forever21) and then my friend couldn't go and I didn't want to go alone. Instead I shopped by myself here in our southern town with not much in it (it actually does a have a good amount of shopping, I'm just in a complaining mood). I went to Salvation Army, TJMaxx, Ulta and CVS. Nothing special. My "haul" pictures are going to be below my outfit pictures.

OUTFIT OF CHOICE
Shirt : Old Navy (What a surprise, right? I get everything from there.)
Skirt : Old Navy, but it's thrifted, I PROMISE!
Tights : Walmart
Boots : Kohl's
Cami (underneath) : Charlotte Russe

By the way, I wore the color on my lips for the first time since I was given it for Christmas. It's by Laura Geller and it's just a sample. It's called "Color Drenched lip gloss." Okay, I hateeeeee lip gloss, but this was a thicker formula so I thought maybe it would be okay. The initial color was amazing (I would tell you what the color is, but it doesn't say it on the tube thing). Then throughout the day I realized it was bleeding into the skin above my top lip. I thought, "What the heck are you doing?! I HAVE to get this off now!" So I did.
My recomendation : DON'T PURCHASE THIS LIP GLOSS!

*Disclaimer : My butt is not that poofy/bubbly. It's my shirt and cami bunched up underneath.

TJMaxx :
ESPIRIT "Toms"
Sephora nail polish in "  "

 CVS :

Wet n' Wild : Cool As A Cucumber trio eyeshadow

ULTA : Matrix Biolage Exquisite Oil Shampoo & a free pump

 SALVATION ARMY :

 LOCAL THRIFT STORES :
Trevor and I went to visit his grandma, who we call Nanu, on Saturday. We wanted to spend the day with her because she is lonely since her husband passed away. We had BBQ for lunch and tried to go to some thrift stores she likes, but most of them were closed, which was strange to me. Why wouldn't a store be open at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday? We did find some good stuff, though.

: Elephant wicker basket ($1)
: One small mushroom plate
: set of 4 small flower plates
: Velvet dress by Kathie Lee ($3)
